DES MOINES – Republican leader Christopher Rants announced today the members of all Standing Committees and Appropriations Subcommittees.
“We have a great mix of rural and urban legislators with a variety of backgrounds. We have tried to place our members in the best position to defend the progress that we have made over the last decade,” stated Rants. “Iowans want a business friendly state with a favorable tax climate, a world-class education system, and opportunities for their children to stay in our great state. House Republicans are committed to that vision, and will continue to work to advance these priorities.”
“I am also excited about the bright group of new legislators we have from all corners of the state, including our newest member, Gary Worthan, who was elected in a special election yesterday to fill the vacancy created by the passing of Rep. Mary Lou Freeman,” stated Rants. “They will all be playing an active role on key committees, and I am confident that their constituents will be pleased.”
